Well, if noone has read it, I will tell what is in it. It is supposed to be fiction. Our Holy Father in heaven is depicted as a black woman. named "PaPa", Jesus is depicted as an Asian man and a carpenter, hiding behind the Father. The Holy Spirit is depicted as an Asian woman. I believe it brings The Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit lower than man. I find it disgusting. It is a popular book here in the USA, and many religious people state it is wonderful. I can't understand why they say that, as it contradicts the bible and is degrading to the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Just wondering if it is a big hit in your country?
I am really quite surprised that noone has heard of the book "The Shack" as it is quite popular among so called "Christians" in the USA. I guess it has not reached Ireland, England or other countries yet, but it will.
It is a cunningly devised fable that is not according to the truth of the bible, and is leading many people astray from the truth of the scriptures.
I just want people to be aware of this book, as so many are being deceived by it. It is written by a man that is not a Christian, but was formerly a member of some church. I am not sure which church, but as a child he had been sexually abused by people that were being preached to by his parents who were missionaries. Also he was sexually abused by people in a boarding school in which his parents placed him. Then he states he had an affair with one of his wife's best friends, and when she found out she was very angryr. His statement was that he had to deal with his wife's anger or die. He said nothing of confessing his sin to God, and repentance, nor of truth righteousness or judgment to come.
Anyway, it a cunningly deivised fable that is not according to the scriptures.
I will say this, and I may be wrong, but was told this by someone. They felt that this man was raised in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and today he is the member of no church.
I bought the book and am reading it so I can speak about it correctly.
I will also say this, that the author Paul Young states on one site that he does not believe in the gospel as we do today. He believes the gospel is about "relationships". So according to Paul in the scriptures if anyone comes to us preaching another gospel, even an angel from heaven, let him be anathema. I accept the scriptures as true.
Well, I tell you what. This is the most disgusting book I have ever read. It is trying to change the way the bible speaks of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It degrades them, and demeans them. Not only that, it does not speak of sin in the right manner, or the atonement of Jesus Christ for our sins. It is totally disgusting and confusing. And the author keeps on saying it a fable. Well, then why do they try and change the true biblical teaching of Jesus, sin, and judgment to come?
I am sticking with the bible. I did not read it all, but got disgusted with it and tore it up. I am not wasting my time on reading such heresy.
I have just decided not to discuss it at all. I am only going to read the bible, and believe it. The Holy Spirit will reveal the truth of the scriptures as we study them.
I think the books is meant to confuse people, and do away with the bible.
Oh yes, they are going to make of movie of it. Well, here is one lady that will not see it or discuss it. It is a total waste of time and energy to read it, and to go and look at a moive is ridiculous. I would not be surprised if the RCC is behind all of this confusion.
I emailed Richard Bennett and asked his opinion of the book. Here is his response:
Dear Rayna Kay Great to hear from you by email. You are exactly right, this book is a disgrace and sacrilege and an insult to God and the Gospel.
Yours in the Lord's loving-kindness and grace, Richard
My words: Yes, it is disgusting. One pastor stated that "It is a dangerous book" "If you have not read it, don't" It is just another device of Satan to destroy the gospel of Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit and the scriptures.
How sad to see the confusion concerning "Christianity" in the world today.
