How many churches truly believe in the scriptures alone for their doctrinal truths?
Roman Catholic Church - They have tradition, the magisterium, the pope and priests to interpret the scriptures for them They also believe one has to be a member of their church to be saved.
Jehonah Witnesses - They believe in the interpretation of scriptures by their main office in Brrooklyn New York. They also believe one has to be a member of their church to be saved.
Mormon - They believe in Joseph Smith and his wirtings for the interpretion of scripture. They also believe one has to be a member of their church in order to be saved.
SDA - They believe they have the only true prophet, Ellen G. White, for their interprestion of scriptures. They also believe one must keep the 7th day holy, and be a member of their church in order tp be saved. If one rejects their message they are lost.
Church of Christ - They believe that they must be baptized in order to be saved, and they also believe one has to be a member of their church to be saved.
Penecostal - They believe one needs to be able to speak in tongues to prove they have the Holy Spirit.
Anything added to the gospel of Jesus is a perverted gospel, and is actually no gospel at all. Paul states that they are anathema.
Christian are to walk by faith alone in God's mercy and grace given to us freely in Jesus Christ alone, through faith alone. It is all revealed in the scriptures alone, and does not need added interpreters for understanding the truth except to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to us in scripture.
Former Catholic Priest Richard Bennett, June 14th 2010 Papacy Set to Recapture England
Dear Friend, Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting the UK September 16-19th. Government and Church leaders are already welcoming the upcoming event. Significantly, the visit comes less than a year after December 1, 2009, when the Treaty of Lisbon went into effect in the European Union. One of the major features of the Treaty is that it “introduces a single legal personality for the Union.” Consequently the UK has to a large extent been subsumed under the legal entity of the European Union. Now in our time, 477 years after King Henry VIII opened the conflict with the Papacy, the Pope comes officially as the head of a sovereign civil state to address British civil society at both houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall. But equally important, he comes as head of the Roman Catholic Church in order to re-establish Roman Catholicism as the religion of U.K. This upcoming event needs to be seen in its proper context, which is what we have done in the article entitled, “Papacy Set to Recapture England.” Please make this article known to others, and kindly link to it, if possible.

VATICAN CITY, JULY 5, 2010 (Zenit.org).- A Vatican spokesman is confirming Benedict XVI's September 16-19 trip to the United Kingdom.
In a statement released today, Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, affirmed that "accepting the invitation of Her Majesty Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom, and of the bishops' conferences of England and Wales, and of Scotland, His Holiness Benedict XVI will make an apostolic trip to the United Kingdom from 16 to 19 September."
The priest noted that the Pope will visit the queen "at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh," Scotland.
The Pontiff will also "preside at the celebration of the Eucharist in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow."
"In London he will meet representatives from the worlds of politics, culture and business in Westminster Hall," the statement continued.
It noted that the Holy Father will "participate at an ecumenical celebration in Westminster Abbey, and preside at a Eucharist celebration in Westminster Cathedral and at a prayer vigil in Hyde Park."
Father Lombardi concluded, "Finally, he will preside at the celebration of the rite of beatification of Venerable Cardinal John Henry Newman at Cofton Park, Birmingham."
The theme chosen for the Papal visit, "Heart Speaks Unto Heart," reflects the words of Cardinal Newman, and the hope that the hearts of man y people will be impacted by the event.

The Scottish bishops' conference just announced the choice of a logo for the Pope's daylong visit to their country, which has as its motto, "The Hope Which Never Disappoints Is Jesus Christ."
The conference president, Cardinal Keith O'Brien, said in a statement released Thursday, "I hope that as many people as possible will participate in the celebrations surrounding the visit to our country of Pope Benedict XVI."
He expressed the certitude that the Sept. 16 event "will be a day of great happiness and celebration in our country."
The cardinal noted that the day of the Pontiff's arrival is significant as it is the feast of St. Ninian, a 4th century Scottish saint "who was one of the first to bring the Gospel of Christ to our land."
He affirmed that "following his arrival at Edinburgh airport, that morning, the Pope will be driven to Holyrood Palace where he will be welcomed by Her Majesty the Queen."
The prelate noted that the Pontiff will then travel through the center of Edinburgh in the popemobile. He encouraged "as many people as possible" to "attend and line the Pope's route."
He also invited all Catholics, whether practicing or not, to attend the public Mass in Glasgow's Bellahouston Park.
"Apostolic visits provide a rare opportunity for us to strengthen our faith and to show it to others," Cardinal O'Brien stated. "As we commemorate the feast of St. Ninian who sowed the seeds of faith in our country, it is my hope that a new generation will be revitalized and strengthened in bearing witness to the message of the Gospels."
I was reading on MSNBC via you tube that they might be attempting to arrest the pope in England when he comes to England for covering up the pedophile priest in his church.
Richard Dawkins planning to have Pope Benedict arrested over 'crimes against humanity' Richard Dawkins, the atheist campaigner and evolutionist, is planning to have Pope Benedict XVI arrested when he comes to Britain later this year for "crimes against humanity".

The Pope will be visit London, Glasgow and Coventry during his time in the UK between September 16 and 19 Photo: REUTERS Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author, are seeking advice from human rights lawyers as to what legal action can be taken against the pope over his alleged cover-up of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.
It emerged this weekend that in 1985 when he was in charge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which deals with sex abuse cases, the pope signed a letter arguing that the “good of the universal church” should be considered against the defrocking of an American priest who committed sex offences against two boys.

“This is a man whose first instinct when his priests are caught with their pants down is to cover up the scandal and damn the young victims to silence, " Dawkins, who wrote The God Delusion, said.
“This man is not above or outside the law. The institutionalised concealment of child rape is a crime under any law and demands not private ceremonies of repentance or church-funded payoffs, but justice and punishment," Hitchens, author of God Is Not Great, said.
Their lawyers, barrister Geoffrey Robertson and Mark Stephens, a solicitor, believe they can ask the Crown prosecution Service and that Pope Benedict will not be able to claim diplomatic immunity since he is not the head of a state recognised by the United Nations.
“There is every possibility of legal action against the Pope occurring,” said Stephens. “Geoffrey and I have both come to the view that the Vatican is not actually a state in international law. It is not recognised by the UN, it does not have borders that are policed and its relations are not of a full diplomatic nature.”
